Josh recently
appeared in an episode of "The
Simpsons" as a brave knight
who slays an evil dragon! Lisa Simpson
considers herself a Josh Groban
fan! If you missed it, you can catch it on
Hulu.com!
Here's a description of the episode at stake:
In art class, Lisa meets an intelligent girl
named Juliet, who also likes Josh Groban,
and the two create a fantasy world that takes
them away from reality. They deem the land
"Equalia" where they are the queens
and everybody is equal. However, Lisa soon
becomes distracted in school after becoming
obsessed with the imaginary land. After meeting
Juliet's family and seeing her disruptive
behavior, Marge thinks Lisa's friend might
be troubled, so she forbids Lisa from ever
seeing her again. Lisa becomes angry and runs
away with Juliet to a run-down restaurant
where they intend to carry out their plans
for "ruling" Equalia. She does this
by missing her UN Model meeting and Martin
contacts Marge and tells her. Marge immedietely
goes looking for her but cannot find her.
Alas, bullies are using the restaurant as
their hide-out, and trap Lisa and Juliet.
The girls manage to escape by distracting
Kearny with stories about Equalia. The two
other guys come, and try to destroy the story,
but Kearny stops them. Later, Juliet abandons
Lisa, because Lisa wants to go back to the
real world. At the end, Homer says that he
wants to make his own fantasy story, based
on his life as a father, but he can't.

Josh Groban to Work With Metallica Producer!
25/01/2009 | source: www.foxnews.com |
Here’s
news from the music biz that’s weird and
interesting but also potentially troubling for
two record companies.
Josh
Groban, the young velvet-voiced singer
who bridges opera and popular music, is getting
ready to make a new album with Metallica producer
Rick Rubin.
Yes, it’s
a cool idea, but here’s the wrinkle:
Groban records for Warner M. Group and producer
David Foster. Rubin is the
highly paid chief in orbit of Sony Music.
Not only should the twain not meet, as they
say, but critics of Rubin and struggling Sony
might wonder what in the heck he’s doing
with a Warner artist and why he isn’t
doing a Sony project.
Of course,
Metallica isn’t Rubin’s only credit.
Recently he produced a dud (sales wise) album
for Sony/Columbia’s Neil Diamond. That
was nice, but it produced no revenue. Rubin
has already cost Sony a bundle and has yet
to generate cash. To make matters worse, he
made the music company move its west coast
HQ to really expensive digs in Beverly Hills
from just fine space in Santa Monica. The
rub, of course, is that Rubin doesn’t
come into the office.

Classical
pop singer Josh Groban is used
to performing in front of millions of people everywhere
— from the Oscars to the 2002 Salt Lake
City Olympics. But all of that paled in comparison
to his most recent gig — singing in front
of President Barack Obama at
his Inaugural celebration concert on Jan. 18.
Groban, 27, was one of several celebrities
and performers, including U2, Beyonce, Mary
J. Blige, Sheryl Crow, Bruce Springsteen and
Stevie Wonder, who stood on the steps of the
Lincoln Memorial at the We Are One: The Obama
Inaugural Celebration.
"I was very nervous," Groban told
OK! at the Huffington Post Pre-Inaugural Ball
on Jan. 19. "Heathy nerves though. I try
not to get terrified. I think we all wanted
to do our best and take a breath and realize
that nobody has a harder job than he does right
now."
Luckily for Groban, he got the Presidential
approval for his performance!
"He said, 'great job, great voice and
thanks for being here,'" Groban says President
Obama told him after the show. "And I just
told him that it was an honor to sing for him
and I was available for anything he ever needed,
just to let me know."
Groban, who is
busy working on a new album right now, says
not to be surprised if he writes and Obama-inspired
tune!
"I wouldn't put it past me to do it,"
he says. "I think a lot of us are experiencing
what's going on in our country right now and
to be young and to be in this historic moment,
it's hard not to sit down at the piano with
pencil and paper and jot a few things down."
Groban has been so inspired by Obama, that
on Tuesday the singer braced the cold along
with two million other Americans as he watched
Obama be sworn in as the 44th President of the
United States.
"It was the first political event I've
ever been a part of that I've ever been so proud
to be a part of," he says.
Be sure to pick
up the latest issue of OK
Magazine! for eight pages of exclusive inauguration
coverage and photos!
